Since I cant reply to my own topic, had to make a new one.

My account has been INDEED hacked... I logged out in Dalaran, so being in SP is definitely not me... this is gonna be complete and utter bullshit if they took all my gold and items...

I'm beginning the process to get it back... I swear... a bad day can only get worse huh?

GAHHHH Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad

Sounds like you need to GET an authenticator. Pretty hard to hack an account with one of those. And i'd have to say, pretty ballsy for someone to USE and authenticator on a stolen account.

Bet you dollars to doughnuts that someone stole your account and 'sold' the character to another person. And that person is using the authenticator, not the original hacker.

Speaking of which, i need to get an authenticator myself. I keep meaning to but never do.

I think the Authenticators are a good idea, but it's a Shame we have to have them to begin with.

I hope you are not Hacked. I also hope nothing destructive has happened to your characters. Check WoW Armory to see if you still have gear.

***Notice of Account Closure***

Account Name: SHAGGZZ1605

Reason for Closure: Terms of Use Violation -- Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy

This account was closed because one or more characters were identified exchanging, or contributing to the exchange of, in-game property (items or gold) for "real-world" currency. This exchange process negatively impacts the World of Warcraft game environment by detracting from the value of the in-game economy.

Even if this behavior is the result of a third party accessing the account instead of the registered user (for example, a friend, family member, or leveling service) then the account can still be held responsible for the penalty because of the impact it had on the game environment.

I cant FREAKIN BELIVE THIS! I didnt buy gold, I didnt sell anything for real money, and now I HAVE TO SUFFER?! This is fucking Bullshit!

They closed my account down!!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Mad Mad Mad

the only WoW sites i've been to lately are this one, the wow armory, wow heroes and curse... I thought all these websites would be trusted websites, its the only way someone could have got my extremely hard to crack password...

I'm on the phone waiting to speak to a representative with a 45 min wait.... We'll see if i can even recover this account at all...

EDITED--

**just ran scans for keyloggers and virus on my compter**
RESULTS: My computer is not infected with anything.

One of these "trusted" sites (not saying this one) has to have been hacked or something....

The only one I can think of being the culprit is wow-heroes or curse... I doubt it would be the armory....

IF I can get my account back, an authenticator will be the first thing I buy! Embarassed

Have you checked your email account? I know Rusen had an issue where they were able to hack into his email and sent a password reset to it and then exploit his wow account.

Also, I hope it's not this site, but I hope you don't use the same Username & Password.

Also an FYI. I got an "Official Looking" email from "Blizzard" not long ago that told me my account password was reset and I should validate it by. (I think I still have the email in a trashcan). It looked official, but I'm always suspicious so I mouse over the links and got the real addresses, and even though they had "Blizzard" and "warcraft" in the url, it was obviously not Blizzard.

Just a warning for anyone else to never click on email links.

Here's another example of a Fake Email from Blizzard.. I'll have to do a screen shot to really show you how "Official" it looks.

Wow Cal, that is the most convincing looking fraud I've seen. Good call-out on the fake URL thing.
A lot of malicious users post links that look legit but actually point to other websites - prime example.

Glad they're getting you back straight Shaggzz.
